Profile

Reusable player configurations applied to videos

Player profiles are reusable sets of player configuration (controls, colors, VSL, save-progress, available qualities) that can be applied to many videos at once.

Key concepts

  • Default profile. Every account has exactly one. It is auto-created the first time you list profiles, inheriting the account's global player config. Videos without an explicit profile use the Default.
  • Shared profiles. Named profiles you create and apply to videos or folders. Changing a shared profile propagates to every linked video.
  • Exclusive profiles. Auto-created when you customise a single video's player. They do not appear in the list endpoint and cannot be reused.
  • Available qualities. A profile can restrict which resolutions appear in the player's quality menu. Send labels with the p suffix, e.g. ["480p","720p"]. null or empty means no restriction.

⚠️ pandaBranding and refCode no longer affect playback.
Since September 2026, these fields are read only from your account's global player settings. Values sent on a profile are stripped by the API. To hide the Panda logo, change it in your account's player settings.
